NOMADS FURTHERANCE OF GOLF
EFFORTS THE PAST YEAR
2024/2025

All Nomads can be proud of our contributions made to Furtherance of Golf (F.O.G) the past year. I would like to highlight just a few.

A special word thanks to our members involved for their time and sacrifices made in representing Nomads. We were prominent and visible
throughout the year. There were several SuperSport Interviews done nervously by some Captains.
We had a great response this year from the clubs in motivating for F.O.G funds to be used at local clubs.
The Wish Lists from our beneficiaries for this year have been received, and we are happy to
confirm that we will be able to assist the various codes within GolfRSA (and our own clubs)
to the sum of R1.85 million Rand, which includes the following:

12 x Junior Tournaments.
2 x Girls Tournament.
12 x Disabled Tournaments.
12 x Nomads Clubs.
Our relationship has gone from strength to strength with GolfRSA as we continue to support
their efforts to grow golf in this country.
Disabled Golf benefited hugely with Nomads as their main sponsors. Their gratitude is evident in the naming rights to their tournaments.
I would like to appeal to the incoming captains to maximise their clubs’ efforts in assisting Golforama as this generates the funds needed
for the sponsorships. The funds generated through the hard and challenging work done by the Golforama team and volunteers is why we
are so successful.
The annual Nomads Girls Rose Bowl tournament was again the highlight of the girls’ calendar. We were, as in previous years, the main
sponsor to this event.
Development Golf is well supported, and the highlight was the tournament held in Durban and was well represented by Nomads as we
were privileged to see some of the young development players enjoying the tournament. F.O.G plays a vital role in golf development in
South Africa. This is one of our main Nomads objectives and makes us as Nomads immensely proud to see how our efforts benefit golf
development.
